So-So

SO-SO
I’m sure you have heard and even used this phrase many times before.
But how was your day? It was so-so.
How was the food? It was so-so.
How are you feeling? So-so.
We say it this way when something was ok but not great, right?
But it can be used in a more positive way, too.
How was your food? It was SO-SO GOOD!
Your trip, the concert? It was SO-SO GOOD!
It all depends on the tone we use. With a ho-hum attitude or with excitement.
But do you know what the Greek word for salvation is?
Soteria, in the noun form.
But in the verb tense, SOZO.
See the word play, so to speak, here?
God has been so, so good to us! But especially through salvation. Without salvation, we all would spend eternity in a sinner's hell.

MATTHEW 1:21
“And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save (sozo) his people from their sins.”
LUKE 19:10
“For the Son of man is come to seek and save that which was lost.”

So, if we are asked the question, how has God been to us?
Will it be a so-so answer of ok but not great, or SO-SO good to me??
God has been so-so good to me, and I pray and trust He will continue to be!

HAPPY EASTER!
